Andrew, I think the division of the generations of Obs is really >52 would simply have delivered vaginal. There was a big break between me and those who cam behind me and came into the practice here in Keene. Breech on perineum: deliver as presented. Most younger than I never got trained well in the after-coming head and occasional pipers forceps application.

I had a new grad from residency (has been in town 15 years?) who had NEVER seen a vaginal breech - when I had her in the room as the 2nd OB for twins with the second delivered by podalic extraction. She was "like, wow, I've never seen a vaginal breech." And I thought OMG - you were supposed to be experienced enough to help!

The "present generation" (new grads to 35) perhaps have seen one vaginal breech in 4 years of residency and are left with no option other than emergency c-section. agf

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
