Re: Gyrus/LigasureFrom: vnellsch (vnellsch@eastex.net)Tue Dec 30 17:02:18 2008
i have done many thousands of vaginal hysterectomies. some of them took 2 hours to do, because of adhesions, or size, or bleeding, or something. to ask if i am a professional because i am deliberate when doing a difficult case is nonsensical. it takes the time that it takes. i rejoice in an easy 20 minute vaginal hysterectomy, but i don't hang my head when a difficult case takes two hours. verner nellsch, md.

He's a MD, sure, but not a surgeon. This is a simple and "designed" procedure which has to be done in less than one hour in 95% and less than half an hour in 50% of the cases. If it's not so, the surgeon must quit or reappraise its indications. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
