Re: Forces upon forceps applicationFrom: Dr. John Provatopoulos B.Sc. M.D.C.M. F.R.S.C. (johnprov@sympatico.ca)Sun Nov 23 12:28:26 2008
Dan there is no question that delieveries with prolonged and failed second stages carry more morbidity and mortality than easy delieveries or elective c-section for the baby. This is actually also tied in to Vbac consuling, VBAC are great when they work but if they don't they carry more morbidity than a plan elective c-section Mom's are almost never consuled about this which is important IMHO.

Take care, John

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
