All of that is acceptable, but also acceptable is my option of sending her elsewhere for that to be done. I am entitled to my medically verifiable opinions and entitled to decide whom I will or will not accept as a patient and the attendant liability. At no point did I infer or opine that she should not have the options if she so desired, only that I would not do it.

Yes, the decision is always ultimately the patient's regarding any treatment for any condition, but my decision as to accept that responsibility is ultimately my own.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
