Re: MS Outlook questionFrom: Dr Eberhard Lisse (el@lisse.NA)Wed Aug 27 10:06:53 2008
But the limit is not software caused on either computer. What I would propose (and I am not into Microsnot terminology, but I think this is wat 'archive' means) is to download older emails on a month by month basis. IMAP allows one to leave the messages on the server and there your 'provider' can set a limit. But with IMAP one also can download the messages (such as the POP protocol does by default). I know it is lingo but maybe you'll have to ask your provider. I manage my own server(s) and duplicate all messages. One set is pulled (with POP) into Apple's Mail.app at home from which eventually I archive it into a MySQL based system (MailSteward), very cool. The other set I look at with Thunderbird via IMAP from home, the practice *AND* the laptop, and where I just delete everything over 6 months old. Works very well. el

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
