Factor V Leiden & ContraceptionFrom: Joanne Bulley, MD (islesannie@gmail.com)Thu Jul 31 12:03:59 2008
20 yo G0. Previously on OCPs without a problem (for 1-2 years) NOT on OCPS has a thrombus in her arm: hematology work up (+) for Factor V Leiden. Currently using condoms *religiously* - no misses or non use. But would like something with effectiveness >98% Options - how would you rank your recommendations: NuvaRing Progestin only pill Implanon (etonorgestrel 3 year implant) Mirena (levonorgestrel IUD) Paragard (copper T IUD) She has made her decision - just wonder what others are recommending.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
