Re: FRI House passes Medicare bill but obstacles remainFrom: Douglas Krell (dkrell@msn.com)Thu Jun 26 23:32:43 2008
Tonight, by a vote of 58 to 40, the Senate failed to proceed to and adopt the "Medicare Improvements to Patients and Providers Act" (H.R. 6331). 60 votes were needed to pass the bill. In a procedural move, Sen. Reid changed his vote to "No" so that he could call the bill up at a future date. Therefore the measure fell one vote short of being adopted. We will forward the roll call when it is available later tonight.(from Randy Marshall. New Mexico Medical Society)

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
