Re: Marked variability and non-reassuring fetal heart tracing. From: Andrew Folley (agfolley@hotmail.com)Tue Jun 17 08:27:58 2008
For 40 years we have been using ST analysis as the measure of ischemic changes in the myocardium to determine myocardial hypoxia in adults. This is essentially the same technology. Put baby on a treadmill and see how the myocardium responds to labor. > Date: Mon, 16 Jun 2008 13:11:01 -0500> From: forcep@intercom.net> To: ob-gyn-l@mail.obgyn.net> Subject: Re: Marked variability and non-reassuring fetal heart tracing.> > Let me get this correct: so if we have no scientific basis for FHR > monitoring we then substitute something else which is newer but again > has no studies which> demonstrate any benefits? The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
