STD screeningFrom: Glen Elrod (dr99645@yahoo.com)Mon Mar 31 17:39:50 2008
I'm just curious. If a patient comes in wanting 'all the STD screening' available due to a history of unprotected intercourse with a previous partner would you offer HPV testing? She denies a history of abnormal paps and is also being seen that day for a pap. If you did order HPV, would you order reflex or just order it as if you were ordering GC or Chlamydia screening? The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
