I just saw a Mom for a post partum visit who had a mirena sitting in the left side of the pelvis, no periods for 3 years and trying to concieve, her periods returned within 3 months of removing it laproscopically and she concieved within 5 months. The paper abtstract from Israel I posted actually showed higher serum levels when its in the abdominal cavity.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
