Re: Marathons-pollFrom: Glen Elrod (dr99645@yahoo.com)Thu Mar 6 12:00:45 2008
Just in case el was wondering what the hell this has to do with obgyn, I'll tell my story of my first marathon. At the end of the race I couldn't move muscle. I couldn't put a foot up on the sidewalk, I couldn't bend over to untie my shoes. I hurt like I've never hurt. The next day I was back at my gym and was asked how it went. My response was that it must be like labor. It hurt like hell for 6 hours, I swore then I'd never do it again and today I'm ready to do it again! The poor person at the desk didn't know I was an obstetrician so she gave me one funny look when I made that analogy. Glen

I have run two, both the Chicago Marathon and both over 5 1/2 hours, but damn if I didn't finish! Dude! Life IS a marathon. And as was the story with the ORIGINAL marathon, the race ends in death! So I'd rather be here with my computer than risk ending up dead on the streets of Boston or somewhere. Sheesh! It's like ... uh ... people liking to jump out of perfectly good airplanes when they could be flying them! hehe Joe P.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
