Cause of ASC Negative for High Risk HPV PapFrom: brigett (brigettgarner@hotmail.com)Sat Mar 1 15:02:52 2008
After a recent conversation with a collegue, I think I am confused as to the cause of an ASC pap. Originally, I thought all abnormal pap results were caused by the HPV virus. My assumption was if a result came back ASC, and the reflex was Negative for High Risk HPV, then the cause of the ASC was from the Low Risk HPV Viruses. Is this wrong, if so, what then besides HPV will lead to the ASC reading?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
