Re: How to do a hysterectomyFrom: Joanne Bulley, MD (islesannie@gmail.com)Wed Feb 6 17:19:55 2008
Dan - Thanks for this tip~ Today I was doing a VH - I was sure I had gotten in posteriorly - but the peritoneal opening wasn't identifiable and it looked like I was dissecting the peritoneum off the uterus. So I went in anteriorly. I think used the uterine sound just as you say (but from anterior to posterior) and it came out the opening I had in the pouch of Douglas. The OR folks were really impressed! I love the tidbits I learn and the sharing of experience on this list! Joanne

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
