But no matter where you are, why remove the uterus when the pathology is in the ovary? What did your patient say? She can probably tell you why her uterus was left behind. To me, a lap BSO is rather quick and easy. A hysterectomy always feels like work to me, no matter which approach I take. And many women wants to keep their uteri til the day they die. Other thinks that removing their uteri can detract from their sexual pleasure. Now, studies suggest hysterectomy increases the risk for urinary incontinence. What is your rationale anyway for doing a hysterectomy when a BSO is indicated? May be people from NY are just smarter? (Forgive me, I am from NY! ;-) Allan Pennsylvania
