Coding time again. We all have those patients that come in just for their yearly exam with no other found complaints. Lets take a 45 year old otherwise healthy woman for her yearly exam. E/M code would be 99386 or 99396 (preventative exam 40-64 yrs) ICD-9 code of v72.31 (gynecologic examination) CPT code of 88174 for liquid based Pap with automated screening. Any other 'usual' ICD-9 or CPT codes that should or could be included in a routine gyn exam? Thanks, Glen

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
