Never used it, but as far as I am concerned it is simply another GnRH agonist, it should be no better or worse than Lupron or Zoladex. Nasal administration of it could be a constraint for many patients and daily administration vs. monthly or Q3 months is not a useful option to me.

Can anyone give me the benefit of their experience in using Synarel (nafarelin) to treat fibroids? The drug blurbs all talk about using it for down regulation and for endometriosis. It certainly seems logical to use it for fibroids, but I am having trouble finding any real studies on it.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
