Re: Gyn: Cervical Cancer ScreeningFrom: Small, Jennifer (JSmall@planned.org)Fri Jan 11 11:09:13 2008
Negative pap/positive HPV in over 30 population; think vaginal lesions. You definitely want to take another look and make sure mischief is not occurring in a site other than cervical. HPV is not likely to clear as quickly in this age group and it is more likely that the site is other than cervical. A good acetic acid wash or even Lugol's and Colpo exam will give you more peace of mind with this patient. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
