Re: Cervical Cancer Screening

I perform an HPV test on all patients if their status is unknown. If negative and in a monogamous relationship I repeat it every 3-5 years. If not sexually active I usually do not repeat it. If under 35 and not in a monogamous relationship I test annually. I do not use slides for Paps anymore. I don't think my MA would know what to do with it.

Are many/all/none of you using liquid cytology AND HPV testing (high risk) as primary screening in patients 30 or more years old?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
