Re: Gyn: POP-QFrom: Andrew Folley (agfolley@hotmail.com)Wed Jan 9 15:15:55 2008
Hi Garry I am routinely doing the POP-Q (Pelvic Organ Prolapse) on all patients with significant prolapse.I have been doing the Apogee Perigee mesh on almost all prolapses the past two years. I simply like to see preop and post op changes. I have half a sheet of paper in the room marked like a "tic tac toe" box. I ask my nurse to "record the following: top line -2, -4, -7 "etc "Middle line is ..... bottom line is ......" I read the 9 measurements off to her and she dates it with pt name and sticks it in chart. I use to use a tongue blade marked in cm. then I taped about 10 cm of a tape measure to the bottom drawer on the exam table and simply measure with a large lolly pop swab and hold the swab up to hthe tape measure to read it. hope this helps andy> Date: Wed, 9 Jan 2008 15:54:56 -0600> From: garrys@mindspring.com> To: ob-gyn-l@dns.obgyn.net> Subject: Re: Gyn: POP-Q> > Or justification for why you did surgery.> > Garry> > At Wed, 9 Jan 2008, Joe wrote:> >> >And possibly more evidence to be introduced in event of maloccurence? The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
