Glen, does Alaska have a "good samaritan" statute? Could be helpful in such a circumstance, though when I was in a state with such a statute, the protection of the statute came with a price...one couldn't bill the patient for services...which I always thought was insignificant compared to the peace of mind it afforded. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
