Considering Aquiring Versapoint SystemFrom: John Robertson (johngmrobertson@shaw.ca)Sun Dec 30 10:47:10 2007
Hi, some of the long time posters may (or may not) remember me. I have been lurking but not posting for a long time. Our Hospital is considering buying a versapoint system for the OR. I have been doing Operative hysteroscopy here (in Chilliwack BC Canada) for the past 13 & 1/2 years. We have the monopolar ball, bar, and loop. The main thing that interests me about the versapoint is not having to remove all the chips when I resect fibroids. For those of you that use the system (especially those that can compare to the monopolar) I have some questions: 1)Is visualization obscured by the bubbles more? 2)Are there differences in terms of ease of use (or ease of getting in to complications)? 3)Do you need a whole new sheath etc or can you adapt it to your existing operative hysteroscope? 4)Do you like it better than monopolar? 5)Do you switch back and forth between the two? Any other usefull hints or suggestions would be appreciated. On another note - I posted a while back about any OBGYN conferences in Boston around April 21st (that's a holiday monday in Boston - I believe it's Patriot's Day?). I will likely be in Boston at that time, and was wondering if I could combine any CME with the trip. Thanks in advance for your help.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
