I wonder what the CPT code is for this? An in utero laser photocoagulation procedure never before attempted has saved a pregnancy complicated by type II vasa previa, clinicians here reported. They obliterated misplaced placental blood vessels, so that when the mother went into premature labor five weeks later, the fetus did not bleed to death, as often happens in type II vasa previa, said Ruben A. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
