Re: TPTL..negative fFNFrom: Andrew Folley (agfolley@hotmail.com)Fri Dec 7 10:34:31 2007
I would be inclined to do nothing with her. Her cervical length of 1.7 at 31 weeks is not really significant for preterm birth risk. Furthermore FFn being negative has a extremely high positive predictive value of no delivery in next 14 days (i.e. >99% she will not deliver). Can not fault the use of steroids by John. I just think she probalby will not delvier until after 37 weeks. > Date: Fri, 7 Dec 2007 08:41:54 -0600> From: johnprov@sympatico.ca> To: ob-gyn-l@dns.obgyn.net> Subject: Re: TPTL..negative fFN> > At Fri, 7 Dec 2007, Efrain Ramirez wrote:> >> >Was treated with metrogel vag.. cervix length in one week - 1.72> >> >Ef> >> >>At Fri, 7 Dec 2007, Raymond Stephen wrote:> >>> >>What about Bacterial Vaginosis?> >>> >>Steve> >>> Significant change in cervix, at 31 weeks I would give betabethasone> 12mg X 2 doses, at 35 weeks I would do nothing but warn patient to come> in to have everything repeated with any symptoms of prom.> > --> Take care, John PC_MediaCtr_bigscreen_102007

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
