There is a good article that addresses it in the Green Journal, v100, #6, 12/02, Jodi Dashe, et.al, "Relationship between maternal methadone dosage and neonatal withdrawal. It can occur on as low as 20mg/d (12% of mothers) and increases to 90% on mothers receiving 40mg/d or more. It's almost a linear correlation and also correlates to duration of neonatal hospitalization. Ronald E. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
