Listers,

A patient brought this to my attention! When you Google my name, the first hit that comes up is as follows:

Free Doctor report on Dr Lynn Montgomery, Obstetrician / Gynecologist of 1211 S Reserve St Ste 101a Birth Center, Missoula Montana (MT) http://www.ucomparehealthcare.com/drs/montana/obstetrics_and_gynecology/Montgom ery_Lynn.html - 15k.

This is a site, ucomparehealthcare.com, which provides information regarding physicians. If you scroll through the pages pertaining to me, you get to a page titled "Disciplinary Action" (pasted below). If you go across from my name, there are none listed. However, there is a "disclaimer" below that is extremely misleading and was read by this particular patient as that I was guilty of all of the infractions listed. As I read the "disclaimer", it wasn't even really clear to me that they weren't referring to me. Pretty scary that this shit is out there. I wrote to them and asked that they immediately clarify the site and I am going to have my attorney do the same.

Pasted from the site:

UCompareHealthCare obtains data from the Office of Inspector General (OIG) which lists individuals who have been excluded from participating in federally funded healthcare programs. This is known as an exclusion or sanction. There are several reasons for exclusion, including : i. conviction relating to fraud ii. misdemeanor conviction relating to controlled substances iii. license revocation by the State Medical Board iv. surrender of a medical license while formal disciplinary actions are proceeding v. any exclusion from any federal or state health programs vi. claims for excessive charges, fraud, or kickbacks vii. failure to report required information to various state and or government agencies viii. failure to grant immediate access for various inspections ix. failure to take corrective action on issues found during inspections

x. default of health education loans or scholarship obligations

We collect State Medical Board disciplinary data, if available. Disciplinary actions from State Medical Boards reflect the last 5 years of data. We do not report on malpractice claims. If criminal convictions are available we will report them.

Just for the "record", my record is SPOTLESS! Let me know your opinions...

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
