Re: MRSA after a c/section-scaryFrom: Doc Peró (pero@fibertel.com.ar)Tue Oct 30 16:51:00 2007
Interesting Anna, last August visiting Vancouver BC, went to VGHospital. Everywhere you see signs saying WASH YOUR HANDS! Beside every single bed same thing, and most important washing facilities. So thereīs no way to avoid it. The px see his/her doctor doing it BEFORE being examinated. With this simple measure, infection rate has drop well beyond expectations. Of course px can and do refuse to be exam. if doctor donīt wash his/her hands. Oh, and can we please wash our hands more? My niece is a patient at a very prestigious hospital in LA-LA land, with PPROM at 25 weeks, and NO ONE is washing their hands when they come into her room to do patient care activities. I told her to put up a sign that says "My paranoid aunt in Illinois wants to know: Did you wash your hands?" Anna Meenan, MD

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
