Re: 100 lbs wieght gain, o.p. multipFrom: AllanHo@aol.comSat Oct 20 11:26:51 2007
I have to admit that I am a lot more comfortable doing Cesarean sections than rotating baby heads. As far as getting a deep seated head out of the pelvis during a Cesarean section, I have been doing the following. I keep my fingers open when I slip my hand between the baby's head and the uterus. My rationale for doing this is to try to trap some air between my fingers. I put my other hand, again with open fingers, between my first hand and the uterus to try to create some air channels as I lift. I have also thought about putting a short section of suction tubing with one end open to room air and the other between my fingers when I slip my hand in front of the head to allow air to go in as I lift the baby's head - but I never had to do it. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
