Members have requested information on the ABOG Maintenance of Certification. Please see the information below which outlines a webcast at no cost to our members. Please distribute this information to your fellow colleagues. It also can be found on the ACOG website (http://www.acog.org) main page, under Announcements.

Free ABOG Maintenance of Certification Webcast

The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology will present a free webcast on November 27, 2007 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm ET on ABOG’s new requirements for maintenance of certification. All board certified obstetrician-gynecologists who have time-limited certificates should participate in this webcast.

Larry C. Gilstrap III, MD, ABOG Director of Evaluation, will discuss the new maintenance of certification requirements which become effective January 1, 2008. Participants can submit questions at any time during the webcast by typing in the on-screen question box. Dr. Gilstrap will answer questions at the end of his presentation.

Webcasts are presented in real time over the Internet. Participants will need a computer with Internet access and speakers. This webcast presentation will be archived for those who cannot participate in the live webcast. The archived presentation will be available on December 4th.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
