Had a case of malignant melanoma of the ovary many years ago and my advice would be to do "the works". TAH & BSO with omentectomy and staging. Not a good prognosis.

Have a patient with a history of malignant melanoma, now with a new ovarian mass. What is the protocol? Simple salpingoophorectomy and await permanent section, or do you stage at the same time? Not sure I've seen this before.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
