Re: GYN: Deaths Associated With GardasilFrom: Joanne Bulley, MD (islesannie@gmail.com)Fri Sep 21 09:08:29 2007
This is a case of post hoc ergo ipso hoc. Part of the misuse of information as in the earlier comment about those doing studies massaging the data after the fact to see if something can show up and then quoting something that is not statistically significant. If we are going to suggest that the vaccine was a cause for "“died of a blood clot three hours after getting the Gardasil vaccine.” Two other reports, on girls 12 and 19, reported deaths relating to heart problems and/or blood clotting." then we need to be able to have some postulate for the physiology that would cause those things to happen. The Gardisil vaccine is only the protein shell and no viral DNA. Where could the possible etiology be for protein injected into the Deltoid to cause the things listed above? I agree with John that there appears to be a specific agenda on the site. Joanne

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
