..

I graduated from MCO (MCOT) in 1974. They had finished the buildings on Arlington Avenue, but I never had a single class in the new buildings. All my classes were in the old Roach TB hospital on Detriot Avenue, across the street from the state mental hospital and down the street from the Lucas County Hospital. I understand that the hospital is now turned into either a nursing home or offices. It was at the corner of Detroit and Arlington.

I lived in the white apartment building that faces Arlington, on the left, just before getting to (?? Byrne ??).

The week I started classes, a body was found in the woods just behind the classrooms where somebody had hanged himself. Also that week, a kid from (I think) Lima made national news by surviving rabies.

If you watch M*A*S*H, Klinger sometimes talks about the Toledo Mud Hens. The Mud Hens were playing at the Lucas County stadium in the summers when I was there.

During my first year there, Steve Knipe (I played little league baseball with him in COlumbus, Ohio) and some other first year, whose name escapes me, got into trouble for some sort of violation. I think Steve was suspended for a while, but subsequently allowed to resume classes a year or two later. I think the other guy was expelled.

Some of the faculty were Pansky (anatomy), DiDio (anatomy), Franco (medicine). I thought one of the OB/GYN's was Ayres. I cannot remember many other names.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
