Re: triplets 343/7 wks B.P. 145/100 3+ protienFrom: Dr. John Provatopoulos B.Sc. M.D.C.M. F.R.S.C. (johnprov@sympatico.ca)Mon Sep 10 08:54:52 2007
C-section; birthwieghts, 1.6kg,2.1kg and 2.4 kg(sorry didn't bother to convert to lbs) four minutes between birth of first and last baby. All babies where tranverse lie, first two where delievered as footling breach extractions, last was converted to vertex. BP. was 160/100 2 hrs after birth despite Mgso4, required 200mg of labetolol follwed by 20 mg of adalat to get it done to 130/80; platlets where 190,000 preop, waiting for this mornings blood work. Both Mom and Dad where present when I discussed pro's/cons of waiting till tuesday, I basically told them there was a 5-10% chance of something bad happening if we waited( like losing a baby), when dad heard that is reply was what the heck are we waiting for.

Take care, John

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
