Good for you.Agree 100%.Jorge. _____ De: ob-gyn-l@obgyn.net [mailto:ob-gyn-l@obgyn.net] En nombre de Rafael Haciski Enviado el: Domingo, 02 de Septiembre de 2007 12:12 a.m. Para: Multiple recipients of list OB-GYN-L Asunto: Re: Insurance (long) As we all know, there is an art to the practice of medicine: generally that "art" applies to the medical aspect, but this discussion brings up the business side of the "art" --- it is a fine and fuzzy line between a caring physician who is selfless in his time and knowledge, and the businessman who is looking at the bottom line, and in these days of narrow profit margin, financial survivability. On one hand we try to please our pts and give them what they want (and thus have many pts), but sometimes we have to put our foot down, draw the line gently but forcefully and hope for the best. And we stray from one side of the fuzzy line to another. And being fuzzy of mind I will retire to bed. Hope everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend 68 years ago the Nazi's invaded Poland and WWII begun. I wish that the insurance carriers would pay fairly based on proper coding with proper modifiers; if they did, then we would do everything at one visit, and get paid properly for it. I am sorry for the patient's inconvenience, but must pay the employees and keep the lights on. Garry Times are tough - we all are going through the same thing - but you have to make up your mind whether your practice is "patient-centered" or "physician-centered". :+) Regards, Robert Modugno MD MBA FACOG Sylva, NC = ________________________________________________________________________ Email and AIM finally together. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
