Check the Gray Journal 1967 article by Huber & Copher. Studied the effect of breathing 15% O2. As a rule normal babies did great and babies with sick placentas developed problems.

D.E. Copher and C.P. Huber, "Heart Rate Response of the Human Fetus to Induced Maternal Hypoxia," *American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology *98 (1967): 320-335.

Dr. Huber was Chair at IU. Copher was young attending. I was resident.

Also check the archives of this list for the last time we had this discussion in2001.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
