Do you think any of the males are just that much more in touch with their 'feminine side' in this era of metrosexuals and all?

Others have given similar answers to what I would have given (mix of medicine and surgery, patient continuity, ability to make a rapid "save" for many patients, really cool minimally invasive surgery). Although you don't mention female ob/gyn physicians, I'll bet that they would give the EXACT SAME set of reasons as male ob/gyns for pursuing this specialty. When male and female ob/gyn doctors talk in the doctor's lounge most of us feel the same way about our specialty.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
