Re: 17 oh progesteroneFrom: Andrew Folley (agfolley@hotmail.com)Sat Jun 9 11:35:53 2007
Steve I know there is some controversy around weekly use of 17 OH Progesterone but I believe that there is evidence in literature based on Meis studies in late 90s and that doing so would decrease recurrent preterm birth rate by half. ACOG has a committee opinion on thsi from Nov 2003. Also NIH of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) have data showing benefits of using IM 17 OH progesterone for asymptomatic women with history or prrevious pretermbirths. Others help me out here if possible. andy

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
