Re: Severe PIH 34 weeksFrom: Henry Gregor (henrygregor@yahoo.com)Sat May 26 21:18:25 2007
Old memory cells at work again, but in line with John's comments, several studies looking at stillborn deliveries from the viewpoint of id'g opportunities for interventions antenatally to lower occurences, id'd delivering chronic hypertensives on achievement of nursery survivability as offering best opportunity. Was it Robert who commented re skating on thin ice? Couldn't agree more, and would ask whether the danger is greater as a newborn in the nursery, or a fetus in the womb under these circumstances. You give the pathalogist an 8lbs 34 wks stillbirth and he/she will have no problem finding some stigmata of gestional diabetes.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
