Re: Postmenopausal pelvic free fluid

This patient did have mild pain during her pelvic exam. The pain lasted only for a few minutes. She had not been sexually active for a few years prior to the exam. I don' t think I could have bursted an ovarian cyst. Besides, she still had plenty of free pelvic fluid three weeks afterwards. She is asymptomatic now. No pain. Feeling well and being physically active.

Her best friend died of ovarian cancer a few years ago with ascites. She is concerned.

Thanks yall for your input so far.

Allan
