Hmm, like how many in a 100000 per year are dying from gunshot in the US?

You can't of course compare it to the other kinds in a University, you must compare it (and the number of deaths) to other universities (ie in other countries). I don't know about the motive, but there certainly is means and opportunity in the US.

Would you say that if there is higher gunshot mortality than maternal mortality in a country that there is room for improvement?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
