Yes I have used oral exclusively in the last decade. The dose is the same, but be aware that it is available in small dose tablets (I think 2 or 2.5mg), so ensure that he stocks the larger dose tablets otherwise your patients have to swallow 20 tablets at a time!

Subject: Methotrexate

Does anyone have any experience with ORAL methotrexate for treatment of ectopic pregnancy? Our pharmacist is looking to try and get away from having to stock IM methotrexate.

Thanks,

Glen

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
