A bright spot in the day

Had a nice lady from the Middle East come in in labor today. Her husband is still in the Middle East, she's living with parents and 4 younger sibs. Her dad (baby's grandpa) accompanied her to hospital, presumably because he's the one who speaks English and grandma doesn't. She arrived 9cm but got stuck OP for a long time and didn't end up delivering for over 4 hours. Pushed for almost 3 and finally had to put on a vacuum because of dropping heart tones. When we pulled the baby out (cried on perineum, pink immediately), grandpa's first words were "God Bless America!"

BTW, it was the first time I used one of those little Kiwi vacs. They're pretty cool.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
