Re: OGTTFrom: ainsron (ainsron@sbcglobal.net)Thu Mar 22 08:31:10 2007
We use the 75 gm glucola with FBS and 2hr BS in the non pregnant patient. However, the 3hr GTT, 100gm glucola is still recommended by ACOG and ADA for diagnosis of the gestational diabetic. They have to be abnormal either on the FBS or two of the other three values to be diagnosed. I think you would miss some of the gestational diabetics if you only looked at one value after the fasting. Ronald E. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
