VestibulitisFrom: ENDODOK@aol.comSat Mar 17 10:43:32 2007
A 61 year old patient presented with a 3 week hx. of introital pain. The NP saw her initially and could find no evidence of infected Bartholin gland, or herpes. Tenderness primarily left side. Pt. on herpetic suppression because of outbreaks on buttocks ( always the same identical location.) Pt started on sitz baths and topical steroids, with 40% reduction in sx. On my exam, has clinical vestibulitis. Marked local tenderness with a Q-tip, and erythema directly on region left Skene's duct. No palpable mass but some perceptible swelling / tenderness region of Skene's gland. No regional inguinal adenopathy. Have not seen vestibulitis in years! Appreciate suggestions for Rx. J.
