Follow your instincts less it is your end that stinks! Sam -----Original Message----- From: ob-gyn-l@obgyn.net [mailto:ob-gyn-l@obgyn.net] On Behalf Of Garry E. Siegel, M.D. Sent: Monday, March 12, 2007 12:45 PM To: Multiple recipients of list OB-GYN-L Subject: Gyn: recurrent Bartholin Gland cyst/abscess 30 YO P0000 Had Bartholin Gland problems years ago--no records. Word X 2, then marsupialization--all well for 7 years. 10 days ago, on a Friday, saw another gyn who tried to do something in office (no records). Seen on a Monday afterwards (one week ago)--3 cm. cystic, non-inflammed mass. I thought that I could do an office Word--but only got a bit of clear liquid and it was too painful. OR Tuesday--marsupialization done--the cyst walls weren't well defined for 360 degrees. Today seen with 3 cm. mass that literally just drained spontaneously 30 minutes before her visit. Sutures intact, can't really expose the lumen well due to discomfort. I suspect she somehow has re-obstructed or may have septae in there (none in OR). My instinct is to leave this alone if possible and reassess in a few weeks, with the thought of another marsupialization under more ideal conditions. Any ideas? Garry
