Gang: Just alittle history. In 1976 the govenment started "PSRO"'s. Remember? The goverment wanted to see how Medicare and quality of medicine jibed. That was the start of another huge goverment run program which contuniues to this day , better known now for quality assurance and taken over by HMO's. Guess who is EXEMPT from this program , from day one . VA hospitals. Joe C

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
