Re: A Necessary Vaccine [NYT Editorial]From: Henry Gregor (henrygregor@yahoo.com)Tue Feb 27 15:57:35 2007
Follow the money...and how about the lab reps advising typing by hpv strains prevaccination to r/o preexisiting exposure...at least one with a separate charge for each PCR tested strain, as well! This thing has got legs for sure! A prime example is a presentation by a Merck sponsored physician when asked about the vaccination for other high-risk HPV strains, he stated that it is “in development”. So, there will be another round of vaccinations, and another and so on. Brings to mind as to whether this is a “planned” staged release, which will enable the company to charge for each round of vaccinations as they are “developed”. Really no different than the big electronics companies and their planned obsolescence of video games and gaming systems – need a new one each year – remember the 8 track tape… Lynn Lynn D. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
