Re: A Necessary Vaccine [NYT Editorial]From: Lynn Montgomery (apgar10@qwest.net)Tue Feb 27 06:25:03 2007
I agree with Joe, "Its not just about the money, its all about the money". A prime example is a presentation by a Merck sponsored physician when asked about the vaccination for other high-risk HPV strains, he stated that it is "in development". So, there will be another round of vaccinations, and another and so on. Brings to mind as to whether this is a "planned" staged release, which will enable the company to charge for each round of vaccinations as they are "developed". Really no different than the big electronics companies and their planned obsolescence of video games and gaming systems - need a new one each year - remember the 8 track tape. Lynn

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
