Yes, the bottom line. Interesting article by Henci Goer and Susan Hodges-Rust regarding how the economics of hospital birth drives maternity care. I always try to remember that the hospital staff, physician and nurses, are looking out for the interest of the mother and baby when I have to transport from the birth center to the hospital. This article reminded me that altruism is sometimes shaded green. Not cynical, just taking things with a grain of salt, somedays.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
