Re: 23 week pPROMFrom: Andrew Folley (agfolley@hotmail.com)Tue Feb 20 16:13:33 2007
This is a very interesting comment and I have never heard of doing something like this before. It seems like in desparate situation (Prom 19-24 weeks etc) that desparate measures could be taken (ie oversewing the cervix) Anyone hear of similar work in the states??? andy\
Comment:
Not that it will help this pregnancy, but Dr. Saling and colleagues at the
Saling Institut in Germany have lowered their PTL and pPROM rates with an
oversewn cerclage and twice weekly patient checked pH test. There is a lot
of
information on their web site, both for patients and providers.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
