Re: 23 week pPROMFrom: ljmidwife@aim.comMon Feb 19 12:43:54 2007
At Hutzel it is Amp and Erythro IV times 48 hours, the Amoxicillin and Erythro po times 5 days. Other antibioitics are given based on the clinical picture. Not that it will help this pregnancy, but Dr. Saling and colleagues at the Saling Institut in Germany have lowered their PTL and pPROM rates with an oversewn cerclage and twice weekly patient checked pH test. There is a lot of information on their web site, both for patients and providers. http://www.saling-institut.de/eng/index.html Linda Johnson, CNM http://www.mothersownbirth.com Temperance, MI 1-866-920-8100 "Not to know is bad. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
